Fundraising Goals:

  • Staff development and retention

    1. Paid Director position (currently unpaid for approximately 35 hours per week)

    2. Recruiting, hiring, and training new staff – with a limited supply of S2C Practitioners or teachers, we must stay ahead of student demand by recruiting and training additional teachers and aides, who also need a competitive salary. We aim to pay all teachers/practitioners $75/hour by 2025. 

    3. Move staff to W2s instead of 1099s. This will necessitate some legal and accounting assistance.

    4. Provide health insurance, 401K, and other employee benefits.

  • Website – to provide program information, resources, and community outreach.

  • Computer Lab – Computers for every student with safe electrical outlets and wiring. We want a wireless setup for student safety and efficiency. We need greater wireless bandwidth for multiple users and a small onsite server for the Center. 

  • Facility improvements

    1. Bathrooms - new sinks, faucets, tile

    2. Water heater

    3. Window coverings 

    4. Retrofit Fluorescent Lights to eliminate buzzing and blue light

  • Student scholarships – Tuition assistance for families in need ($30k per year) with private coaching sessions to train parents/guardians in Spelling to Communicate.

  • Group Transportation - Small bus or Van for transportation to and from school and field trips for community outreach and career training.
